Dr. Unger considers quality dentistry more than just skill or technical know-how. He approaches his work from an artistic and aesthetic perspective by incorporating a sculptor’s eye with the latest scientific materials and techniques.
Dr. Unger is a firm believer in patient involvement during the course of treatment. He possesses a quick smile and an understated sense of humor that fosters a warm, caring relationship with his patients.
Practicing the art of gentle dentistry for more than 25 years. Dr. Unger has acquired over 1,000 hours of postgraduate training to continually improve the quality of care he delivers. He is a graduate of St. Peter’s College and was awarded a New York Regent’s Scholarship in Dentistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Temple University School of Dentistry where he was a member of the John A. Kolmer Honorary Medical Society of Temple University. He also trained at the Pankey Institute and has a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Endodontic Society.
Dr. Unger is a respected teacher and lecturer and is currently an Associate Attending at Staten Island University Hospital. He is also a former professor of Restorative Dentistry of New York University (1980-1986). Dr. Unger holds membership in the American Dental Association, American Endodontic Society and was a past member of the Board of Directors of the Richmond County Dental Society as well as a Past President.
